Astrologie: Canceron – The Crab

This new series will visit in some depth the 12 signs of the zodiac, their meanings and potential.

Canceron, or “Cancer”, is the sign of the prophet or teacher. It is a cardinal watery sign and those born under it are thought to be tenacious, patient, sensitive, sympathetic, empathic, motherly, mutable, and easily influenced. The ruler of this sign is the moon. The gems are agate and emerald. The color is violet and its metal is silver. Its companion signs are Picon (Pisces), Scorpion (Scorpio), and Tauron (Taurus).

Before discussing the many attributes of this sign, one thing must be said; this is the only sign that comes with a warning: the Canceron capacity for tenacity surpasses any reasonable or logical power that any human being could ever understand. What a Canceron wants, he will have. His patience and adaptability verge on the god-like – once he has decided he wants something, like the crab that represents this sign, he would rather lose his claw than let go – and after losing it, will grow a new one to grab hold once again.

The image of this sign, the crab, also alludes to the other notable feature of this sign, namely that his tendency toward martyrdom gives him a strength of character that allows him to suffer the greatest – horrifying – levels of damage and self sacrifice. Like the well armored crab, Canceron takes what is given, always deflecting the blows of his enemies with his impenetrable shell of patience and devotion. He has the double danger of being both invulnerable when in the right, and yet terrifyingly vulnerable when his weaknesses are exposed.

Canceron takes everything to heart. There is nothing subtle about this sign. Like the Scorpion, when wronged, they can display a level of vindictiveness and hatred that mortal men dare not provoke. But, once provoked, the tenaciousness of this sign will see that satisfaction is attained no matter to what lengths he must go or how long it takes.

The evolved Canceron is the master of his emotions. Every emotion is open to him, his empathic abilities and deep sympathies for those around him give him an insight that others lack. Time means little to him – the past and future are as immediate as the present and his memory of things that happened long ago or predictions of what will come can be shocking in their accuracy and detail.

His family and class are very important to him. He always speaks what is on his mind and, though he can be fantastically treacherous, because this comes so easy for him, he avoids it – preferring to be direct and to the point which unbalances his opponents.

His desire to be maternal, especially in females of this sign, encompasses his whole being. He cares like none other – regardless of familial connections.

This type is very romantic. They follow a narrow path of devotion and dedication for those to whom they are attracted. But, he’s usually too shy to embark on matters of love and, consequently, the story of his love life is a short and tragic sequence of mishaps. His patience wins here and he will pursue relationships even when all logic and reason dictates that he do otherwise. The happiness he gets in attaining his goal outweighs the prerequisite suffering he was forced to endure. This sign knows nothing in moderation when it comes to love – and he has a yearning to give and ask little in return.

The under-developed Canceron is a nightmare. A slave to all moods, his patience manifests as a desire to inflict his will on those around him. Nothing can happen fast enough for this type and he is only truly happy when everyone else around him is miserable or when everything is going badly. He demands respect where none has been earned and bears a sense of latent power that makes him feel supra-important in the world.

There is such an amazing difference between the fully developed and under-developed Canceron as to be like two wholly different signs. They will sometimes erase large numbers of friends from their past, moving on as though they’d never existed. Other times, they will stay in contact for years with one person they cared about briefly, may have only met once, or not at all, and whom they’re not likely to meet again.

Regeneration is a Canceron trait absent in other signs. A Canceron will shed its shell and find a new one – adapt a new persona, taking from those around him until he constructs a new personality to replace the other one and emerge new and proud into the world, leaving behind all vestiges of his previous life.

Some notable Cancerons include: Henry VIII, John Quincy Adams, and John D. Rockefeller.
